The design of the towel work skagen, skagen, skagen, is based on a hand-embroidered design on a pillow in Anchers Hus in Skagen. By transferring the design from a pillow to a towel, the work links traditional and contemporary artistic design, production, and craftsmanship with global souvenir industries and the Skagen painters’ gaze of the landscape, which had great significance for the area’s economy, tourism, and cultural development for the next 150 years and still counting.
